Morning Surprise

One morning, I walk into the kitchen to find this:

Clean bowls and a dish towel on the floor
from washing dishes the day before.
Note the skewed towel still on the counter. 

Notes and calendar from on top of the fridge

Rod left this note for me on the fridge before he left for work.
He left all the evidence as it was for me to see when I got up.

Hint: It isn't the cat pictured.
